Congregational Ministries

The Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary have a twofold purpose for their existence: first, the holiness of the members of the Congregation and second, but no less important, the joyful service they render to Christ and to His Church. Holiness and service are inseparable in the daily life of a religious and are reflected in the manifold works of the Congregation.

Each Sister accepts her assignment as a "mission," acting as one who is sent, missioned to live out in her life and work the Gospel message of Jesus Christ, the Redeemer. A religious is not what she does, but she does what she is. This is the reason why both active and retired Sisters share equally in the twofold mission of the Congregation. Whether the mission calls them to teach, to minister, to suffer, or to pray, under the patronage of Mary, the Immaculate Mother of God, they say "fiat" – yes – to whatever is asked of them at each stage of their lives.
