We, the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary of Immaculata, Pennsylvania, called by God to apostolic sanctity and realizing our responsibility to the redemptive mission of the Church commit ourselves to proclaim the Gospel message of Jesus Christ to the people of God. In the Alphonsian spirit of mission and inspired by the courage and zeal of Father Gillet, Mother Theresa Maxis, and our first sisters, we dedicate our lives to embrace the simplicity and poverty of the Gospel.
As religious women striving to imitate Mary, the Mother of the Redeemer, we witness to our Baptism into Christ through his liberating power in our personal lives and through a process of ongoing conversion. Nourished by the Eucharist, we share consecrated lives in community, so that we may serve the needs of the people of God with greater power and freedom.
Through our apostolic commitment as Catholic educators and in a spirit of loving and joyful service, we:
Invite those to whom we are sent into the full sacramental life of the Church,
Challenge attitudes, values or life styles which are in conflict with the Word of God,
Promote the human dignity of each person, especially the most abandoned,
Acculturate ourselves into the rich diversity
of the peoples with whom we share our ministry in humility, friendship
and love,
Meet the future with renewed zeal for excellence,
especially in our educational endeavors.
In all this, we describe ourselves as religious teachers who believe that the more we follow the example of Christ to be chaste, poor, and obedient, the more we will be authentic Catholic educators.
Finally, we pledge ourselves to rely on Divine Providence for an
increase of vocations and to remain open to the Holy Spirit in fostering
the growth of the Church in North and South America.
